Bio
I am 71, had the most wonderful husband in the world, John. We've been married 16 years. I have 5 children, John has 6. That makes for a lovely 11 kids with 29 grand children who have now started marrying, and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Johnny went to heaven on June 26, 2008. He fought a long battle with bladder cancer and I'm thankful he is out of pain. Crisp Regional Hospice was the most wonderful help through all this as was my church and family.

Born in NC, graduated Albemarle High, attended East Carolina College in Greenville, NC, William and Mary Extension in Norfolk, Va, Harris County Community College in Houston Tx and taught for 3 yrs at Houston Community College in Houston College. I taught the Activity Director Certification Course for Nursing Home Activity Directors for three years.

I started piano lessons at 11, started teaching piano at 13 and am still teaching. Music has taken me to some wonderful places. Some highlights, playing for churches and gospel quartets all through jr. high and high school. Earned a High School Diploma in Piano. Majored in music at East Carolina. Worked in music dept at SW Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth Tx as an accompainist, was accompainist for a pro ice hockey team in Albuquerque, NM, played for church aboard the aircraft carrier Valley Forge in Norfolk, Va, played backup keyboards at Rodeos in NM, was singer-keyboard player in country/swing band for two years.

I've managed apartments in Albuquerque and Houston for a total of 6 years, worked as activity director in N Homes in Houston for 10 years, volunteered in many nursing homes as an entertainer.

In the past 3 years, we have retired from full time work and have come to live in Cordele Ga in a wonderful house, get to see 1 daughter and 4 grandsons and the great/g/kids but also takes us away from the other 10 children and their kids who are scattered all over the USA. We couldn't live in any one place and see them all.

We're very involved in our very small and loving church, Omar Heights in our town and have the most loving church family you can imagine.

We've had health issues but are doing pretty good right now. We have a parakeet, Chico, who is 13 years old and talks when he chooses and always pitches a fit when we get ice cubes from the fridge or run water in the kitchen.

Our year and half old beagle/chicuawa mix Sugar runs our lives and our outdoor pets are Lucy, a border collie mix and Tigger, a yellow tabby that came here as an orphaned baby and was raised by our dog Lucy.

We have wonderful children and g/children, love them all and miss them but our big joy is going fishing at Veteran's State Park where the catfish and bass fishing is super.

My lovely daughter [info]may_lyn (not her real name of course) lj's all the time and has asked me in the past to join.....so here I am. I know I'll update and upgrade this soon.
